  2. Nearby competitors sampled
  3. Medians taken, not averages
  4. Where you sit against the market
How your local market is measured

Why this needs no listing — and why that matters

Most competitor tools start by asking you to find your own Google listing. That quietly excludes the two groups who most need the numbers: the owner whose profile is too weak to surface in search, and anyone sizing up a market they haven’t entered yet.

This snapshot works from the market side instead. It reads the most prominent listings for your category around your city or postal code and reports the statistics that describe a *typical* competitor — the median review count and rating, not an average that one dominant player drags out of reach.

Enter your own review count and it places you: how far you are from the median, how many of the sampled businesses you already outrank, and the monthly review pace that closes the gap within a year. The snapshot is a photograph, though, and markets move — the audit of your own listing, and a system that asks every customer, are what change the picture.
