Funding Opportunity Scan

Funding Research for One Real Project

You describe a planned investment. We search the current official sources, verify each program against its own page, and hand you a shortlist worth acting on — or tell you plainly that there is nothing well-matched right now.

  1. Your project described
  2. Programs searched
  3. Eligibility checked by hand
  4. A shortlist with next steps
How public funding programs are narrowed to the ones you qualify for

Why This Is Research, Not a Grant Database

The Government of Canada already runs a free Business Benefits Finder, and several companies sell grant databases. Neither solves the actual problem: programs fund specific costs against a specific plan, so a list of program names is useless until someone compares them to your project.

That comparison is the work. It means reading the administering body's own page for each candidate — not an aggregator — confirming the intake is open, checking whether your costs fall inside the eligible-cost list, and noting what would disqualify you. Every program in your shortlist carries the date it was verified and a link to the source.

It also means telling you when the answer is no. If your spending has already started, or the project is too loosely defined to research, we say so and recommend a refund or a credit rather than delivering a padded document.

Process

How It Works

1

Free preliminary assessment

Start with the free Business Funding Opportunity Scan. It takes about three minutes and tells you whether the project is defined enough to be worth researching.

2

We confirm the project is researchable

If spending has already finished, or the project is still an idea, we say so before taking any money. That conversation is free.

3

Manual research

A person searches the current official sources for your province, region and industry, and reads each candidate program's own page.

4

Written scan delivered

You receive a document with the verified shortlist, deadlines, eligible-cost observations, a documentation checklist and a recommended next step.

The Difference

Your Three Options

Doing It YourselfTypical AgencyAlliance Optima
Free, but fragmented across federal, provincial, regional, municipal and utility sources that do not talk to each other.Grant consultants often work on a percentage of funds received, which biases them toward large applications.A flat fee for research on one project, with no stake in whether you apply.
Aggregator sites go stale; closed programs often keep their pages up.Usually verified, though scope depends on the engagement.Every program read on the administering body's own page, with the verification date recorded.
You reach that conclusion after the evening is gone.A percentage model has little reason to tell you the project does not qualify. We refuse the engagement up front when the project is not researchable, and recommend a refund if research turns up nothing worth billing for.
You apply, or you do not.Application writing is often the core offer, priced accordingly. We do not write or submit applications. We hand you the research and the checklist; the project work itself is where we can help.

FAQ

Questions People Ask

Does this guarantee I will receive funding?

No, and nothing in the deliverable is phrased that way. All funding decisions belong to the organizations that administer each program. What you are buying is verified research, not an outcome.

Do you write or submit the application?

No. This service does not include writing or submitting applications, and we do not represent businesses before any government body. The scan tells you what to look at and what you would need.

What if you find nothing?

Then we say so and recommend a refund or a credit. An honest "there is nothing well-matched for you right now" is a legitimate result, and padding a document to justify the fee would defeat the point of the service.

What if I have already started spending?

Tell us before you pay. Most public support only covers costs incurred after approval, so a project that is already underway is often ineligible. We will decline the engagement and offer to scan your next project instead.

Is this legal, accounting or tax advice?

No. It is business research. Where a tax measure comes up we name it and point you to your accountant, who is the right person for it.

How do I start?
