Is Your Site Slow Enough to Be Losing Customers?

Almost every speed checker leads with one figure: the Lighthouse performance score. It is a simulation — a cold load on a throttled mid-range phone, on Google’s hardware, at that moment. It is genuinely useful for diagnosis, and it is not what Google ranks on.

Search uses field data: the Core Web Vitals that real Chrome users recorded on your site over the last 28 days. The two routinely disagree, and the disagreement matters in both directions. A site can score 45 in the lab and still pass Google’s assessment — rebuilding it would be money set on fire. A site can score 95 and fail, because the simulation never meets the third-party chat widget that loads for real customers.

So this tool leads with the field data and labels the lab run as the estimate it is. When Chrome has no field data for you — normal for a small local business with modest traffic — it says so plainly instead of quietly presenting the simulation as fact. The revenue figure underneath is directional and capped, built to answer "is this worth fixing" rather than to produce a number for a budget.
